As 2018 comes to a close we are looking ahead to 2019 as a milestone year for horsevents. It will be our tenth year of operation with our actual 10th Anniversary falling on 2nd January 2020, which will be 10 years to the day of the first entry being taken by us online.
We have some serious plans for 2019 before we culminate in our big birthday, the biggest of which is a whole new website build. Not just a facelift but a whole new re code of the entire site to ensure we meet the latest security standards and make use of the latest browser capabilities. Things have come a long way in the last 9 years, who would have thought you would be entering an online competition with your mobile phone all those years ago, but now it is common place, so we need to catch up technically with the times! There are no set dates for the new site, it will be ready when it is ready, but we certainley want it launched and in use way before our big birthday!
2019 will also see the launch of some branded clothing for horsevents. Keep your eyes peeled for those. We will definitely have to get some of those for the office.
We have grown over the last 9 years both in the number of competitions available to enter and with more Shows going online, be they run by Show Centres, Riding Clubs or Pony Clubs, this has meant a more than steady increase and a year on year increment in the actual number of entries being made.
As the chart shows the number of entries each year has increased, and predicted to increase further over next year, and into the future, so that we can look forward to another 10 years online as the probably UK's best horse entry system.
