With the launch of the new Site that creeps ever nearer you will find that we have extended our Payment Provider Options. Previously all of our payments were provided by PayPal, whether you were paying by card or by using your PayPal account.
With the new site you will find that you have an additional option at the checkout if paying by credit or debit card. This additional Payment Provider is the world renowned Stripe. Teaming up with Stripe means we can offer those customers that want to pay quickly and easily with a card can do without dealing with PayPal at all. We have found in the past that PayPal will try to talk card payers into signing up with them for a PayPal account, and we are aware that not everybody wants this.
So now as well as the normal pay with PayPal option you will also see a Pay with Card option.
Initially this option will only be available on events where Horsevents manage the entry fees, if an Organiser manages their own finances then you will still only have a PayPal option for these Organisers. But as these Organisations are also encouraged to offer Stripe we will be able to expand its availability to all events. Currently about 60% of events use horsevents to manage their finances so you will see the option quite frequently
We are continuing to push for the new site to be launched as soon as possible and each passing day brings it one step closer to reality.
